The US doesn't NEED Saddam's money or oil. The US is big enough and covers enough material resources that we always have goods and services to offer without finding our GDP down and out.

We could have seized the oil fields in 1991, annexed them and administrated them. We didn't, because while the US exports arms to control anti-western threats such as the USSR in Afghanistan or the Ayatollah Khomeni in Iran - we do not do so on the basis of simple "how much cash back do we get" policies of foreign engagement as the EU now pursues.

Yes a deal's a deal. Our deals while not perfect have been a bit higher morally than just a quick cash boost to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

We are the United States of America - and that makes a BIG difference.
