"Overlaying the photographs with a grid, surveyors from Air Flight Service estimated crowd density in the plaza and along the route. Each grid was evaluated and assigned a density of people, from 10 percent to 100 percent full. Most were judged at 25 percent or 50 percent full. This is the first time the firm has used its equipment for crowd estimation."
Hardly precise, imo.
For what it's worth, one realization which has gradually dawned on me in reflection on the local marches is that the anti-war activists are in much better physical condition than the population at large - pun intended - so I think it's fair to say that you can get more protesters into a given space, and I wonder if the aerial counters took that into consideration while making estimates and assigning densities .
Incidently, considering the quality and tone of rhetoric coming from your political allies on this board, Phil, if there's any damming indictment of the human gene pool, as you put it, we need look no further for examples.
Myself, I just put it down to ignorance, immaturity, and lack of self-control. However, one can only infer from your remark, that you think you're better than others, or have superior genes.
Ah yes! The Chosen Few of a Master Race with Glass Parking Lots on their agenda. How noble!
Finally, you may recall the prohibition against falsely yelling "fire!" in a crowded theatre. It seems to me that the inflammatory rhetoric so obvious on this bbs is the moral equivalent of that false alarm.
And that is a damming indictment indeed, sir!
