And for the record, we do have an extensive radiological detection net in place at our seaports and elsewhere. For obvious reasons, some parts of it are not widely advertised. At the present time, there are still some pretty big holes in it, and it needs tightening. Right now, only about 10 percent of cargo containers are thoroughly scanned in a way to detect not just radiation leakage, but the lead shielding that would be required to keep the leakage down. And the detectors issued to inspectors are limited in their capability.
The net would be most effective against a radiological bomb, which by its very nature must be much more radioactive in its unexploded state than a nuclear warhead would be.

When North Korea scraps its missile program, and starts building sailboats, get back to me.

- Missile defense a top priority...
- Color me skeptical
- My guess is that it is true, and that is the reason for stepped up tensions...
- Another thing to thank the dnc 'leadership' for:
- It's true.
