Scary thought,
I keep thinking of all those Science fiction stories. Terminator, Berserker, Bolo MK IV, The Corbin Project.
I have no doubt many here can add any of a hundred others.
Once we reduce war to a mechanical sort of game, it ceases to be frightening, for those with the more advanced machines.
As you say, it could end up as an automated US Army Abrahms M7D/AI series tank firing on an army with 20Th century weapons.
