this is interesting. I think that if this were a really bad vector that we would probably hear about it around the time we or someone we knew was getting ill... However, I am not really qualified to judge... I used to be into genetics&biochemistry, but I decided that I didn't enjoy chemistry enough to make it a career. Never went very far with it in college. So, the point is I can't really judge the threat of this one way or another. Do we have someone on the zone who is qualified to judge (immunologist or viral specialist)? WHO seems to be getting aggressive about it.

Probably nothing serious, but we are (by some accounts) overdue for another world-wide vector....
