One of my neighbors was in Turkey on 9-11
He's a native of Turkey and happened to be there when the WTC towers fell. In that same week, there were many terrorist attacks in Turkey, including a bombing at a restaurant that killed about 30 people. Turkey has a decidedly mixed human rights record, but they've also been experiencing about as many terrorist attacks as Israel and for about as long. That could make any nation lash back in return.
