They are a mixed bag

"War protestors" are a diverse bunch of people. The only thing they really have in common is their desire to appear on television protesting war. I would subdivide these people into three basic groups:

1) Sweet, well meaning people who think war is bad but are too emotional to see that Saddam is also bad.

2) Intelligent, well informed people who are locked into a particular thought process. Being "right" often is an accident, e.g. being presented with the correct facts in the right sequence while in a receptive frame of mind.

3) Bad guys, e.g. communists, islamic fundamentalists, Noam Chomsky clones, etc.

We should respect the people in groups 1) and 2) (How do we know for sure that we're right and they are wrong?). Groups 1) and 2) have a definite right to their opinion. However the people in group 3) would best show their opposition to war by volunteering to become "human shields" or go to Iraq to help defend Saddam against American aggression (where the US Marines could deal with them appropriately) or remain in America and spend some time in jail. The existence of group 3) indicates that Darwinism is an on-going, incomplete process.
