Good to see you on the boards Dan. I agree there were more issues in 1969. We were at war with communism as it rolled over small nations. When Nixon was in South America in the late 50s and the communist agitators created mobs of spitting and pipe wielding rioters "protesting American imperialism" one could clearly see the face of the communist threat as it emerged in these unstable places.

Venezuela and Peru were the two hot spots of the trip. When they arrived in Venezuela the mob spit on the Nixons from the airplane observatory deck as the national anthem was played. Nixon stood through it and watched as tobacco colored spit splotched Pat's new dress and he was never more proud of her or to be an American. When the mobs of 100s plotted road blocks and attacked their cars they would have died if not for a quick thinking chaffeur. (In those days the secret service detail was just 6 men!)

Today few know or care about the history of communist agitators and subversion. And by the time the late sixties rolled around thes subversives worked openly out of our universities in the US. When I see International A.N.S.W.E.R. - I see the successor of these groups who have the same goal - destroy America and replace Capitalism with Communism and Socialism.

If we see violent mobs - we know where most of the real violence and hate and anti-American rhetoric is spawned.
