With a few exceptions like yourself, most antiwar protesters have made a very big deal about there being no hard evidence of WMD in Iraq.
And if there are large stocks of chemical and bio weapons there, given Saddam's natural proclivities, it's pretty hard to make a case that he wouldn't put this stuff in the hands of terrorists under the table if it wasn't taken away from him.
Note that the inspectors didn't have a clue about this plant, legitimate or not.
