Journalistic Subtlety - An Analysis Re: Kurds

Iraqis Abandon Post and Kurds Advance

This article, like hundreds if not thousands of other articles, subtly suggests that Kurds are NOT Iraqis.

This is of course really an obscene twisting of reality to portray an Iraqi populace in solidarity with Saddam Hussein.

Perish forbid the title might otherwise read:

Northern Kurdish Iraqis Advance on Kirkuk

or

Iraqi Freedom Fighters Advance While Saddam's Forces Retreat

Yes, several folks here (you know who you are) have succumbed to this media form of subliminal suggestion, that most Iraqis love Saddam.

That this is simply a bald-faced lie and is not supported by statistics is overlooked.

Journalists use the west's greatest weakness and strength, our compassion and sympathy, to control readers emotions and use the body of a dead child or a mother's rage to paint the coalition as The Great Bush-Satan.

Such is the power of subtle propaganda and the media and the left are engaged in a psy-war against the US and civilized peoples.

Media message:

The Kurds don't count.

They're somehow less important than a Baghdad shopkeeper or mechanic.

They're less human. (after all they think Satan is reformable, no wonder they have been persecuted all these centuries)

The media keeps subtly pounding this message home in hopes of demoralizing the US into thinking all Iraq is united behind Saddam and his sons.

This is a great crime, but the Fisks of the world have no real humanity - only an agenda to pursue. Demonizing the US and President Bush is the top on their "TO DO" lists.

Next time you read an article that separates Kurds and Iraqis - just send a note to the media outlet that published it and tell them you don't appreciate articles which depicts Kurds as non-Iraqis, stripping them of their nationality.
