I'm no expert, but maybe some of you know more about this.
The current Talking Point of the Hour is that our military has been surprised and dismayed by the course of the war, and is desperately trying to cover by suddenly deploying additional troops.
I am listening to a Rumsfeld press conference where every, single, last member of the press is hammering at this again and again and again.
Given that the "Shock and Awe" attack took place about a week ago, and that the additional 100,000 troops are being deployed now, this implies that their deployment had to be planned much earlier than the actual beginning of the attacks.
Those of you who have had deployment orders and such, is my take on the timing accurate? Is the press right that we are calling up 100,000 troops cold right now based on the current war progress in the past week, or is the Pentagon right, and these troops have been on ready for weeks already as part of the original plan?
