The Iraqis' greatest fear
is that they'll hear this:
Bush: "Well, it's sure been tougher than we thought it would be, the war's taking over a whole week, and we've taken some casualties, so we're just gonna pack it in and go back home now. Good luck with Saddam, guys!"
Until the Iraqis are CERTAIN that Saddam is gone, of course they'll doubt us and be distrustful.
