How to sell a war

Or anything for that matter.

Make the product or the end result LOOK like it will work.
People will always buy it.
Now, whether it "does the trick" or not, is another question.

Virtual war games to see if we can win?
Rumsfeld playing it the way he wants, changing programs when the outcome looks less than favorable?
Wow, must be nice to have all that money and all that power and all those troops to go trampling into a foreign country to take it over.

The Great Imperialists.
What a crock!
A handful of men, drunk with power and ambition and a view of THEIR brave new world, defy the international community, decades of hard won co-operation, and send our best and brightest into hostile territory TO TEST THEIR THEORIES!

>"The transformation ......with names such as "effects-based operations" and "rapid, decisive operations", were little more than "slogans"........

SLOGANS??
Well, that's how they sold the war!
PR and sound bites.

"Freedom".
"Axis of Evil"
"Tyrant"

And then rush head long into it.
This deep, deep quagmire to "win the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people".........
Why, women on my street were baking apple pies and taking them to the GOP meetings and putting together little ribbon wrapped presents for the soon-to-be-liberated Iraqi children.
They were all gushing how wonderful it's going to be.

My, my.....all with a sound bite, and good ole GOP propaganda.
The horror of this "plan" is that it won't work, was a tremendous gamble which we were FORCED to swallow, and one that will come hurling back on us with the force with which we directed it.
Get ready for some dirty laundry.

(History never teaches us anything.
Is Bush not Napoleon?)
