How do we pay tribute to people who have sacrificed everything? How do we pay tribute to people who have left their friends and families behind? How do we pay tribute to people who risk having their bodies burned by the sting of chemical and biological weapons? How do we pay tribute to people who knowingly risk abusive capture? How do we pay tribute to people who put their lives on the line each and every day?
How do we pay tribute to people who willingly do all of this and more?
We can pay tribute to these people (regardless of your position on the war) by striving to apply some of the values they hold dear. Values contained in the true definition of words like courage, strength, honor, integrity, dignity, sincerity, honesty, sacrifice, respect, confidence, patience, intelligence, kindness, unselfishness, guts, patriotism, altruism, teamwork, history, and freedom.
These words, and more importantly the actions that surround them, illustrate the true nature of the coalition.
Please keep all of the men and women involved in the war with Iraq in your hearts and minds - especially those classified as missing in action or prisoners of war, “You are not forgotten.” Vince
