There may be a lot of intelligence here, although I would imagine most of the good stuff has been cleared out or destroyed. But there's something else:

My call on it, based on no real evidence, is that the tunnel rats are scouring these sites for entrances to the major underground facilities that would certainly be there. There is similar activity going on at the airport.

One would assume that escape tunnels would include methods of closing them off quite decisively should the entrances be compromised, and I would expect the tunnel rats are running into a lot of walls of fallen rock.

However, it is also obvious that the regime holed up in its underground fortress cannot permanently close up ALL the entrances. Somewhere, a hole MUST be left open. And sooner or later...
