This Looks Real Bad

I don't expect our soldiers to put policing above soldiering when their lives are on the line, but allowing looting of national treasures rather than government ministries of ill repute and Saddam's buddies is a glaring lack of concern when the soldiers don't seem to be busy. This is not just Iraqi history it's world history.

Of course this story could have a major degree of spin, but I am really concerned if we are not trying to protect anything from looters. It does no good to use precision bombs to preserve Iraq's civilian lives and infrastructure just to let looters destroy the infrastructure and make life miserable for the liberated in a new fashion.

We screwed up the aftermath of GW1. Let's not do it again.
