There will be a LOT of pressure to put the U.N. in the driver's seat to rebuild Iraq.

It might be worth considering the U.N. record on nation-building up until now when deciding to hire them on. Haiti? Bosnia? Srebrenica? Rwanda?

How about an employment test?

Have the U.N. settle the problems in, say, the Congo. The U.S. will stand back and not get in the way. If France, Germany, Russia, and all the rest of the people who've been throwing tomatoes at us can fix that, maybe we'll sign them up for Iraq.

Naturally, anything involving military action will be considered a "failure of diplomacy," and will result in rejection for employment.
