Record $22.5 billion in pork this year
<this site is particularly depressing this time of year.
Both Democrats and Republicans stink like road kill in this area. The Republican House passed a bunch of tax breaks for oil companies that far exceeded what Bush was looking for, if you can imagine that.
What is really disgusting was how much of this stuff rides through on National Security funding.
And now the politicians think our tax cuts are too generous!
If you project $22.5 billion over the next ten years, it pretty much equals the amount of that part of the tax cut we probably won't get.
