130 mph winds at White Sands!
DEMING, New Mexico (AP) -- Powerful winds with gusts as high as 130 mph swept through southern New Mexico on Tuesday, prompting road closures and causing a 10-car pileup that killed two people.
The White Sands Missile Range recorded the highest wind gusts -- 126 to 130 mph.
