Not time to end UN oil-for-food
Bush is calling to end all UN sanctions against Iraq, but it's too soon to end the oil for food program. I've got nothing against the US efforts on democracy in Iraq, but we don't know yet if Iraq will just end up with another kleptocracy in a year or two. If it does, then even the UN can do a better job of handling Iraq's money and sole resource than another dictator.
While the program could be altered/expanded, oil revenue control shouldn't be handed over to anyone in Iraq until they've been legitimately elected.
Maybe the Europeans will take their populist stand against the US and turn it into a principled one over this issue. Probably not though - they'll just cave in.
