My problem with the NRA...
...is that they're purists who oversell the intent of the Second Amendment as much as anti-gun advocates do. The real story about gun control lies somewhere in the political middle between the views on either extreme.
Of course, the NRA might be wise in making certain that the firearm given to Mr. Heston is equippefd with trigger locks.
