Re: Lake Harrison

Hey, Steve! We used to live in Cranbrook, just a bit north of Couer d'Alene.

The lake in the photo is actually Hicks Lake, a small one near Harrison with a beautiful 6 km trail around it.

There are lots of warm lakes in BC for the wimps... Christana near Grand Forks is supposed to be the warmest, and the Okanagan lakes are warm as well. Too warm for me, we have a cabin on Quesnel Lake and the water is chilly especially early in the summer (partly because of the the glaciers feeding the lake from a mile or two away, and partly because the lake is over 1700 ft deep in parts), but it doesn't bother any of us so we're happy.

Sorry, I don't know much about B&Bs, there are lots of good tourism sites like this one. The lakes in the East Kootenays are not too much to see, but Kootenay Lake in the West Kootenays is beautiful - Nelson and Kaslo are must-sees. The really gorgeous lakes for looking at are in the Rockies between Banff and Jasper - if you've never done that trip, you're missing one of the most gorgeous areas in the world.

Good luck, and have a great trip!
