The long term outlook is dicey with the minimal progress seen so far. Seem s like we did half the job by taking out the Taliban, but they need some help with the second half of rebuilding a functioning economy. It's a good thing Iraq is at a far better starting point. Afghanistan is almost as bad as Haiti and Somalia.
