Will there be other big terrorist attacks, either here or overseas? Almost certainly. However, 9-11 was a wake up call to more than the US. Intelligence and law enforcement agencies around the world realized it could just as easily be them next time. As a result, efforts against terrorism are probably at an all time high. I don't expect anyone will be dropping their guard anytime soon. The US resolve to take out governments who sponsor international terrorism probably hasn't hurt, either.

Is the worst over? Hard to say. We need to keep in mind that the 1989 Pam Am bombing was conducted by Libyan agents as retailation against the 1986 attack on Libya. Revenge, it's said, is a dish best served cold. Keep your powder dry.
