A few more details, but in general outline nothing that we haven't known for quite some time. The Bush Regime is the most corrupt Administration to occupy the White House in decades...going back to the time of Teapot Dome, perhaps.
And yet, we also know that Bush's supporters will leap to his defense and that of his lieutenants with desperate spin and rationalization, and they'll try to use the Clinton Gambit. With a Republican lock on Congress, the White House, and the Supreme Court and much of the lesser Federal judiciary, I'm not optimistic that justice will ever be done.
In the 2000 debate with Lieberman, Cheney got a lot of laughs with his line about how he'd made his fortune without help from the government. Ironic, now that we know that Halliburton not only was getting fat from contracts with the American government, but with the governments of countries that sponsor terrorism.
In that light, perhaps the real agenda of the eternal war on terrorism isn't just to enrich companies with ties to the Bush Regime, but possibly also to clean up their tracks. Think maybe "looters" destroyed all the records of the Iraqi government's dealings with Halliburton? And what a beautiful capitalistic racket, destroy a country, then hire American companies to rebuild it, financed by the country's oil and other natural resources. The old custom of reparations was just so crude and blunt alongside the subtle genius of this new way of doing business. To the victor belong the spoils, 21st Century style.
