The only real advantage to moving it to a hosted site would be not having the "wordpress" bit in the web address. Some people think this screams "amateur," but since I'm not running a business or worried about looking "professional," I'm not sure I care.

It sounds like generating an XML file now and then just for backup wouldn't be a bad idea.
