The idea of a shift to 6 years is good. I also like the concept of one time only. To much time and money is spent of marketing of canidates. Making their tenures, somewhat longer - and one time for the executive would be worth while.
I would allow long term (4) for senators and the same for Reps and expansion of their terms by double.
