This is really starting to piss me off. I should start a list of leftist lies that keep going and going like the Energizer Bunny. I have seen this "fake rescue" bit in articles, cartoons, and many other places.

The whole "rescue was staged" business was based solely on a BBC bit, and every story I have seen in the leftist media has referred back to it. Kind of like the single Boston Globe story that is the main source for the "Bush AWOL" flap.

A DOD transcript addressing this can be found here.

In hindsight people may criticize going into a hospital armed for bear when it is full of nothing but doctors and nurses, but when you consider that this hospital had recently been an actual military headquarters, and that Iraqi militants had a well-known MO of disguising themselves as civilians to catch people off guard, the armed raid is perfectly justifiable.

And of course, everything else is based on the word of the Iraqis at the hospital, who sure as hell don't want to be identified with the Iraqi regime in any way.
