Hi,
Well, I went to bed very early in order to wake up at 03:00 am, rush to the astroclub Véga's viewing site for the event (not the same as the usual one because we needed a completely north-eastern horizon). At 4:30 am, I arrived there with a friend and our equipment, deploy it and find Mars!! A gibbous planet in the blueish sky. There were 7 other members of the club to join us plus two who joined the party.
But the haze was too thick and we missed it completely.
OTOH, I got a GSM phone call from another member who went to the airport near Brussels and he did see the partial eclipse!! Gee I'm jealous!
Well, it's our first early morning club gathering and it was fun anyway.
Last thursday late afternoon, I got a call from a walloon radio station Bel RTL and they asked me questions about the eclipse, knowing I was president of an astro-club. They had me live in their program. It lasted 5 minutes or so; I'm wondering how they found out about me.
Regards,
Raoul
