I have been watching VCR rental movies for years and occasionally I will get one that has not been rewound or the tape needs to be tightened. Usually there is no problem.

Now come DVD rentals. I have had a problem with nearly every disk I have rented. They skip and distort at some point in the movie, (usually about half way through). I have always been able to fix the problem by cleaning the disk with an alcohol swab and I have now learned to do that first. It is a royal pain that is hard to understand. Does anyone else have this problem or is there possibly something wrong with my player?
