re: Hamas offered to stop attacks

Hamas will stop the attacks when every last Jew is dead or exiled from the Middle East. People should have stopped harboring illusions on this years ago. Unless the Palestinian leadership gets a handle on the radicals, nothing will change. And I'm sorry, but Arafat is part of the problem, and the sooner someone either shoots him or exiles him to Libya, the better.

As for settlements in the West Bank and Gaza, why not give them the option to stay as part of a new Palestinian state? I find it interesting that it is apparently accepted worldwide that a Palestinian state shall contain no Jews. I'd like to see any other nation get away with this. Frankly, I doubt that the settlers will take up this offer (would YOU?) but the idea of "gerrymandering" the borders of Israel and the Palestinian state to include every rinky-dink Jewish settlement as part of Israel is a non-starter.

Israel contains 1 million Palestinian citizens, and while there are certainly issues of discrimination, they are legal citizens, and they vote in Israel's elections (although many boycotted the last one.)

How many Jewish citizens will the Palestinian state permit?
