What I find infuriating is the impression being given by many in the media that somehow, Israel has now "blown the peace process." As if the bombings, shootings, and other attacks on Israel by Hamas since the Roadmap stuff started didn't mean anything.
And does anyone really think the bomber who blew up that bus saw the Israeli attack on TV yesterday, decided to "get revenge," went out to buy explosives, sewed up a bomb belt, and got on that bus today?
That bombing had been planned for weeks, if not longer. Odds are excellent that thirteen people would have died on that bus today even if the Israeli military had all called in sick yesterday.
And let's not overlook the implied equivalence between Israel attacking a known leader of a terrorist group and terrorists blowing up a bus full of innocent people.
