My spam level has increased...not too bad as yet, just annoying...but I suspect that the culprits are the many sites like newspapers and such that now require "registration" to read their articles. Although many are free, why the heck would they ask for this if they weren't getting some use out of them?

I get about a virus a day, too. A lot of them are coming attached to mortgage offers. Fortunately, my virus software catches them, although I had a bad moment when an e-mail arrived unmolested and I recognized both the text and the attachment as a familiar virus bomb. I reinstalled my virus software after doing a low-level scan, having developed the suspicion (never proven) that something had come in and "disarmed" Norton.
