Time for this nonsense to stop, that's right, and some real butt kicking to get underway... oh, wait, that wasn't quite the Gandhian way, was it? Well, never mind, just put them in their place. Yeah. That's the ticket! Put 'em in their place!

It will be helpful in the struggle if some note is made of the extraordinary extent of what appears to be relatively recent volcanics on the surface of Mars. Of course this could all be an illusion, either because the surface flows are not so recent, or they're not volcanic. Or just because Mars is the Planet of Illusion.

(Side note: I think that, to a signficant degree, Nick has won. Well, close enough. It will take a good deal of time for the implications of this victory to fully dawn on the field -- some successful Mars landings that have the capability to test his hypothesis would help, but that's always a dicey proposition...)
