Space/Science » in reply to Space Calendar no longer lists the COSMOS-1 solar-sail mission.
This is two months old, but I think it addresses your issue: Once the testing of the various components of the flight model is complete, the spacecraft will go through its final assembly and testing. We hope this will be completed in early July, just as the results are in from the tests at the Makeev Center on the launch vehicle system. If everything is OK at this point, we will be able to plan for a launch by September. As we have explained before, there are three variables in building a spacecraft: time, money and performance. We do not want to sacrifice performance; we have no extra money to spend. Time is therefore our only variable. We will launch when ready.
