re: I bet you and Don are kickin' back over a few beers right now.

I don't know if I should take you seriously our not, due to the emoticon.

But we have been through this before- I am not happy that We have found no WMD, and I frequently posted such bofore the debate got as polarized here as it did.

I am not happy we went into a war that, even if there were WMD, was morally unjustifiable.

I am not happy the world now thinks of america as the land of jack-booted thugs and reasonless blind followers.

I am not happy we pissed on our allies.

I am not happy that, since I live in a democracy(of that I am glad), I share moral responsibility for each unjustly killed Iraqi.

There is no joy in this debate for me- its sort of like lancing a boil. Its like when I taught- dragging some kid who absolutely hated my class through excruciating lesson after excruciating lesson. There is no joy in debating with folks who not only don't want to even admit you have a point- but refuse to even employ sound logic. Its like arguing God with radical mormons or arguing Capitalism with a radical marxist.

As for Don, he is on his own path- and I have a lot of respect for the guy. I think he is more patient and in some ways bigger than me in the sense that he does not 'shred' folks like I tend to. As a result, folks like EBNelson and P pick on him and insult him in absurd and uncalled for ways. But I doubt he would give me a high-five if he saw me.

It would be like you and I giving a high-five when we find out a mutual enemy died of cancer.
