"The only opinion I voiced in reply to the original post is that it is typical of many left leaning folks to question the intelligence of anyone that disagrees with them. I stand by that opinion. "
So "People with your opinions can at times seem incredibly stupid to me" isn't an opinion? Sorry, it sure seemed like it to me. And can you really say that you never, ever question the intelligence of people who disagree with you?
FrankC also said: "The elitist tendency of liberals to believe that anyone that disagrees with them is dumb is one of the main reasons that I usually prefer the other side."
Sometimes people who disagree with me ARE dumb. I know of people who believe whole-heartedly in UFOs, angels, that the Apollo landings were fake, that smoking cigarettes doesn't cause cancer, etc, etc. and I think that these people are dumb. If that makes me elitist, I guess mea culpa.
FrankC mentioned "a belief in a different set of data". Data is data. Belief doesn't enter into it - facts are fact. The interpretation may be open to belief or not, but "believing in a different set of data" is sort of like believing in a different set of laws of physics.

Until the election draws near... please shut the hell up."
If I were an American citizen, I would sure as hell be calling for Bush's impeachment. I think there are ample grounds - a lot more that there were for Clinton and his diddling, or even for Nixon.
And are you saying that because I'm not American I have no right to express my opinion?? Or is it because you disagree with me? Either way - I will definitely NOT shut the hell up. I am offended that you would say that, even giving the benefit of the doubt that it was in jest.
RobVG also said: "The arguments are long over and long over-done. The only action Americans can take is to vote in the next election."
I think the arguments are only beginning. Your opinion sounds to me like you would like to suppess disssent. Cool. And the attitude that Americans can't do anything until the next election is, to me, pathetic.
Was I being condescending? I didn't intend that, and I apologize to anyone who honestly felt that way personally. I genuinely do care what happens in the US. Is it condescending to point out what I honestly think is a dangerous and unfortunate trend?
