1) You don't know the racial breakdown in the west- you only suspect and have no evidence to back your claims

2) A competing hypothesis, one that does not require a miracle of a 'race-specific virus' (such a thing does not exist) is that it effected more folks in the communities it originated in, before it was realized what was going on. Aided, also, by chinese politics. By the time it could spread to the west, we had isolation, quarantine and medical procedures well establised, as well as screening for folks coming from hot-zones.

But you just keep on believing what you want to believe. Maybe the yeti will show up...
