Things are loading slower than they should, that's not your imagination. I think I have a pretty good handle on the causes (multiple), and I expect things to improve with the next big upload. It's a range of things, like debugging stuff in the code that generates the table of contents, and some server optimizations I need to do to encourage your browser to cache more stuff locally, specifically all those images you noted. I've streamlined a lot of the script in the user interface, too.

The weird behavior of the TOC started as soon as I inserted the "HabitableZone News" message at the top. I don't know what causes it--it "just shouldn't happen", "some sort of mumble-mumble interaction between the zitframmis and the thingamapage", and other hand-waving imprecations are all I have at this point.

I'm trying to thoroughly test the next version before I upload it, to get off the treadmill of making piecemeal fixes side-effects. Another day, two at most, should do it. But I want to be as sure as I can that it's close to right before I install the next version.
