"abstain," change "behavior," use "condoms," or "die."
Coming out of Bush's mouth these words sound like they'd attract a LOT of irate responses from the anti-abstinence, homosexual hordes on the left. "The religious right is not going to tell us what we should do with out bodies or personal behavior! How DARE they!"
Fortunately, they are NOT Bush's words and are the "A, B, C, D" AIDS awareness program sponsored by the Ugandan government.
How sweet it is to see conservative mores pop up in regions that seriously have to face their problems and not just spout endless, self-justifying, destructive, feel-goodisms or lash out at everyone else who is not to blame for their own destructive behavior and drink the nectared mulse of personal responsibility.
Someday those folks who have ignorantly embraced a sort of self-created personal & political autism, in the form of extremist liberalism will see the light and perhaps in their love of all things African can take their new cues from the way they have seen fit to address their AIDS epidemic in Uganda.
