At school we learn how to speak, read, write, count and also to reason, use common sense.
When I learned history, I had to use a diagram with all kinds of dates, kings, events and compare them in three different places. Charles the Grreat had his empire divided in 3 (France, Germany and a narrow strip from Holland to Italy. Each one of these areas had an history with kings, queens, marriages between them, etc..We studied their chronology to understand who fought whom or who married whom.

Liberty! Haa, indeed, it's not simple at all to define what it is!
We still discover things going wrong, unfair handling of people for dubious reasons.
It's constantly evolving.
