Keep electing Tax Cutter politicians. We'll go after this one in round two or three.

I suspect that with all the tax cuts already enacted, this is only going to get worse for families two incomes.

As your Regular tax bill decreases, it becomes more and more likely that you will suddenly find the AMT applies to you.

I would suggest that just about all of us need to start looking at and understand how the AMT works and how it might impact our own tax situation.

Not knowing the law doesn't work with the IRS.

Speaking as a CPA (who admittedly doesn't deal a whole lot with individaul tax issues), if you even slightly suspect that the AMT might apply to you, find a good tax accountant to look over your financial situation so that you can avoid the AMT mess.

Oh yeah, and don't invest in tax free bonds, or variable annuities...But that's another matter.
