Fill 'er Up with Ethanol

A few short years ago natural gas was the only alternative fuel that was supplied by refuelling stations. Now Ethanol-blended gasoline is being sold by over 600 gas stations across Canada, and over 250 stations in Ontario!

All cars can burn up to 10% ethanol mixed with gasoline without any modifications or changes in performance. Since ethanol is made from biomass, all the carbon emissions from your ethanol fuel are re-absorbed in next year's crop. And since ethanol is directly substituted for gasoline, if everyone buys 10% ethanol-blended gasoline for their cars, we will directly decrease fossil fuel consumption in transportation by 10 percent. This will easily meet the Kyoto Protocol requirements in that sector.
