A couple of co-workers and I took this IQ test today. I ended up in heated debate with one of the participants on this one question.
Question: NASA received three messages in a strange language from a distant planet. The scientists studied the messages and found that "Necor Buldon Slock" means "Danger Rocket Explosion" and "Edwan Mynor Necor" means "Danger Spaceship Fire" and "Buldon Gimilzor Gondor" means "Bad Gas Explosion". What does "Slock" mean?
- Danger
- Explosion
- Nothing
- Rocket
- Gas
My result (Todd):
"Necor Buldon Slock" = "Danger Rocket Explosion"
"Edwan Mynor Necor" = "Danger Spaceship Fire"
"Buldon Gimilzor Gondor" = "Bad Gas Explosion"
1st and 2nd phrase both contain Necor and Danger 1st and 3rd both contain Buldon and Explosion.
Slock and Rocket only appear once therefore Slock = Rocket
His result (Ron):
This appears to me to be gas.
Similarities:
Necor = Danger
Necor = Fire
Buldan = Rocket
Buldon = Bad
Slock = Explosion
Slock - ???
Doesn't it appear that "gas" would fit?
Todd: I say no. I’m I wrong here, or will it work both ways?
Am I right or am I wrong here?
