Hey, they should have a patch system along with a series of panels and other hardware stocked on the ISS just for emergencies, if the goop burns off during re-entry, great!!!! It did it's job...Look what NASA told JOHN GLENN when they thought his heat shield deployed...leave the retro pack on ..It just burned up!!!!!
