re: T + 34 years, and counting

I was thinking of the anniversary today. So long ago, yet still fresh in my mind.

Raoul talks about seeing it over and over, experiencing the thrill and joy of what Humanity had achieved. Which is well and good, one can take great comfort in what has been accomplished.

However, I think of the promise of that singular moment in history, the day humans stepped over a threshold, into the true space age. And I wonder, was that it? Has the majority of mankind dismissed it as “Been there done it, let’s move on to something else?”

As time passes I have become slightly restive about the future of our exploration of space. It seems to have stalled in LEO. This is an old subject here I know, but one that bears repeating, let’s get off the dime.

The stars may be eternal, but the window of opportunity humanity has to achieve the goals of many on this board is not.
