hyper-X, and scramjets
I really want to see the Hyper-X succeed. I have seen some here (I think) claim that VT Rockets really are the best way to get into space... I don't have a qualified opinion there, but my unqualified opinion is that an air-breathing, fully re-useable SSTO with good lift capabilities would all but certify man as having a future in space.
Plus, the Civilian and Military applications of that would be potentially enormous. The more units made, the cheaper and more reliable they are likely to be in the future. Though I don't expect to see a 'Kit' SSTO Scramjet anytime soon...
