Can't help but wonder if its because their descendants will become staunch conservatives whereas the descendants of Mexican illegals in the US so often become like O. Ricardo Pimentel who live subconsciously knowing they got a free ride and justifying their own existence, assuaging their own guilt complexes under the banner of ultra-liberalism.

Looking at the Cuban precincts in Florida is like looking at formerly conservative Orange County in CA. Somewhere the lifelong freeloading liberal government bureaucrats who push papers for a living have probably long ago figured this out.

Therefore the plight of the Mexicans, which is based solely on economic hardships and corruption, is trumped up while those living under Marxist monsters are played down for all their worth.
