re: maze of contradictions
The statement in the State of the Union address was not a lie. The British government stands behind its substance, and says their intelligence was not based on the forged documents. This particular fact was not critical to justify our actions in Iraq. The Congress voted for action in Iraq long before the State of the Union address was ever made.
If Bush and his staff made a mistake, it was attempting to mollify the Left with explanations that never needed to be made.
The "16 words" is old news. The Democrats spit into the wind yet again. Tack this one up next to the Enron debacle and other pathetic "gotcha" attempts, and move on to the next try.
