Prima Facie, we know this result is flawed. How?
See the post on the effects of radiation on Mars below. If the researchers had of taken into account the results of the prolongued exposure (3.8 Gya) of Mars to pretty direct radiation, both solar and cosmic, resulting from Mars relative lack of magnetic field, then they would also have reported on the extremely radioactive Martian enviornment which has resulted.
Do we find any mention of this radioactive enviornment? No - what we find is the same sort of Earth-like Mars nonsense which has been promoted for over 100 years or so.
Whenever this team or any other team provides a report on the persisting radioactive products resulting from this irradiation, and has adjusted their results for their effects, then they will be correct and I will accept them.
